The operations carried out in the city with the 20.2 million euros provided by Europe through the ERDF funds and the Castelló City Council are based on four axes called Thematic Objectives (OT in its Spanish acronym). These objectives of smart, sustainable and integrated growth are established after analysis of the assets, problems, challenges, weaknesses and strengths of Castelló de la Plana.
The four thematic objectives include several operations 50% co-financed by Castelló and Europe.
OT2.Enhancing access to, and use and quality of information and communication technologies (ICT).
>Monitoring system of parking spaces reserved for persons with reduced mobility, loading and unloading areas and taxi ranks.
>Acquisition of an integral multimedia IT platform for municipal security and emergency services.
>New Citizen Portal.
> Implementation of the SAE technology (Operation Assistance System – SAE in its Spanish acronym) technology through dynamic information panels in public transport stops.
OT4. Supporting the shift towards a low-carbon economy in all sectors.
> Improvement of the accessibility of 17 public transport stops.
> Cycle path: Ciudad Transporte – Casalduch Gran Vía
>Improvement of municipal energy efficiency: street lighting and municipal buildings, new fleet of low-emission vehicles.
>Cycle-pedestrian green corridor in Camí La Plana
>Extension of the cycle path network in Calle Músico Pascual and its connection with Avenida Casalduch and another one in Avenida Castell Vell.
OT6.Preserving and protecting the environment and promoting resource efficiency.
> New Río Seco Bridge and expansion of the roundabout located in Avenida Alcora.
>Landscaping of the Panderola space, in Grau de Castelló
0T9. Promoting social inclusion, combating poverty and any discrimination.
>Rehabilitation of the Centro Municipal de Cultura de Antonio Maura (Antonio Maura Municipal Cultural Centre) in order to transform it into a social and active ageing reference.
